Krista studied cultural anthropology and archaeology and came to the conclusion that, for her, it is not just a course of study, it is a way of life. In addition to thinking and writing, she likes to train for and compete in running races, and dig in her yard. She feigns to be gardening, while really she’s just marveling at the things she finds in the dirt. She and her husband are raising three sons in Winchester, Virginia- a perfectly sized and situated town at the Northern tip of Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley. It’s an area steeped in U.S. history- 7 minutes from the mountains, 70 miles from the heartbeat of the nation. She earned an MA in Anthropology from Indiana University and a BA in English and Anthropology/Sociology from Albion College. If you’d like to know more about Krista, the kind folks at The Rain, Party and Disaster Society have published her Artist’s Spotlight in their (very cool) magazine and read the work she has linked to here! Don’t be shy. There are links to her poetry, short stories, and essays (both light-hearted and uber-serious) if you tap the little buttons at the top of this page….do it….
